Winter at the Grape Escape

June 2014

Boy admires Grape Escape pet rabbitWelcome to our new look website! This website is for you, so we want to make it as current and informative as possible. There will be regular updates  and we hope to post news, photos, recipes – in fact anything you might like to hear or find useful.

Autumn and winter is the time for warming comfort food inside by a toasty fire – just like the one inside the Café!   Our winter menu has lots of hearty, warming dishes to tempt your appetite. Remember that all our food is made from scratch, by our talented kitchen team, from fresh locally sourced ingredients. We grow many of our own herbs and make our own relishes, pickles, sauces and preserves. Some of these are available for sale – at the moment you can buy from us jars of our ever popular mustard mayo, or try some of this seasons Quince Jelly – heaven with a sharp cheese and Crusty Bread.

At this time of the year we do quite a bit of maintenance around the café, so you might see John out and about, waterblasting or painting, or our gardener Megan, dealing with the autumn garden. We have also made our little boy bunny, Starsky (in the Hutch), a very happy rabbit – he has a mate in with him and we hope for some baby bunnies in due course. If there aren’t any, it won’t be Starsky’s fault!
